Redbricks adopts the CISCE board as it closely aligns with the school’s educational vision and philosophy. Some of the reasons for selecting this board are below:
Board’s Origins And Vision For Learners: The CISCE board is the oldest Indian board established in 1958 as a replacement for international Cambridge education with a goal of developing competent and holistic learners and has stayed relevant during changing times.
Educational Philosophy And Focus: The CISCE board is the most balanced of all educational boards promoting in-depth learning, higher-order thinking, practice and rigour while being rooted in the Indian context and culture. Its emphasis on English language and literature prepares students as intellectual thinkers and effective communicators. The board‘s approach also promotes important character traits and skills in students such as a love for learning, persistence, resourcefulness, adaptability, problem-solving, and collaboration, amongst many others.
Scope For The Future: The CISCE board prepares children well for success in the Indian as well as International education system, thus keeping doors open for both destinations. CISCE learners are widely accepted and sought after in undergraduate colleges both in India and abroad, due to their knowledge depth, diverse skills and holistic personalities.
Quality with Affordability: The CISCE board offers high-quality, international standards education rooted in the Indian context at an affordable At Redbricks, we firmly believe that high-quality education need not be exorbitantly priced and should be accessible to a wider spectrum of children.
Children who study in the CISCE board are well-prepared for academic, life and career success in any field across any destination. They are grounded individuals with deeper knowledge and possessing humble yet dynamic characters.

At Redbricks, the curriculum is designed by experts keeping in mind the child development milestones, requirements of Indian and international boards, and global best practices in teaching-learning.
In the preschool (EYP-KG), children follow a developmentally appropriate and thematic curriculum with learning goals across all domains of development (physical, cognitive/intellectual, language, socio-emotional & creative), implemented through a unique play & discovery-based methodology.
In the primary school (Class 1-6), the school has designed its own program preparing children to excel in any board in the future. The curriculum follows a thematic and inquiry-based learning approach while ensuring that children develop robust subject-specific skills and rigour.
In the senior school (Class 7 onwards), the school adopts the ICSE curriculum until Class 10 and the ISC curriculum until Class 12, preparing students for future academic and career success in any set-up. A combination of direct instructional and experiential learning techniques are employed for meaningful learning.
In the preschool, holistic development activities are integrated into the daily curriculum – it includes creative arts, physical fitness and education, music and movement, and creative storytelling. Ongoing celebrations, field trips and interactions with visiting experts are also regular activities which enrich young children’s experience.

In the preschool, assessment is conducted in an ongoing manner through daily observation records by teachers, and there are no tests or exams. Formal Report cards are shared with parents twice a year, which includes evaluation against age-appropriate criteria for all domains of development. Teachers also share detailed written remarks about the child’s progress across all domains.
In primary to senior school, assessment is conducted through a combination of formative and summative assessment methods. Formative methods include teacher observations, performance tasks, assignments, and other in-class activities. Summative methods include tests and exams – tests are introduced from Class 3 and formal exams from Class 5 onwards. Board exams are conducted in Class 10 and Class 12 by the affiliated board. I.e. the CISCE board. Formal report cards are shared 4 times/year- mid-semester and end-semester during both semesters.
Redbricks students enrol in external tests such as the Ei ASSET test in Class 3-Class 10 for a benchmarking of their performance against peers from other best schools in India. This gives the school and parents formative feedback regarding their strengths and areas of improvement. Enrollment in Olympiad tests is optional for Class 5 & above.
At Redbricks, we believe in a positive and restorative discipline approach. This means that the focus is on helping students reform their behaviour when they run into behavioural challenges, instead of giving punitive punishments. More importantly, preventive practices such as developing classroom agreements, setting clear expectations, developing students’ emotional regulation skills, mindfulness practices, life skills training, etc., are adopted to help students thrive and proactively engage in productive behaviours.
Redbricks students typically develop as enthusiastic learners with a deep love for learning, curiosity and a strong ability to investigate various fields and topics. They are multi-talented with a keen interest & talent across academic areas and a wide range of creative areas. They develop as balanced, humble, confident and compassionate individuals who share a strong connection with the Indian culture while connecting with global values.
The school has adopted five core values: Mindfulness, Passion, Pursuit of Excellence, Compassion and Collaboration, Responsibility and Safety – as its guiding principles. All learners and school community members are encouraged to develop and exhibit these values.
The school follows the English language as its primary mode of instruction. At the same time, students and teachers are allowed to use Hindi / Indian languages to communicate informally across different situations. We believe that a desire to learn the English language should not necessarily mean a need to exclude other languages, particularly those which are a strong part of our heritage and emotions.
The school selects teachers through a robust hiring process in which the teacher undergoes multiple levels of interviews along with a demo class. Teachers are well-qualified as per the classes and subjects of teaching and are continuously trained through a strong internal induction program and ongoing in-service training program. Teachers are also encouraged to attend high-quality external training and development activities. Continuous class observations and feedback by internal and external experts throughout the year help the teachers to increase their overall effectiveness. A yearly performance-based evaluation and appraisal system is adopted to provide teachers with opportunities for growth and development.
Curriculum information is shared with parents for their knowledge of what children are learning. Regular PTMs and parent workshops help parents understand how children are learning. Children’s progress is also shared in the PTMs, and through regular report cards. Project culminations/exhibitions help parents to view the overall learning journeys of children. Technology is also used to keep parents informed and updated: Google Classroom, Edunext Parent APP and the school’s Social media accounts.
The school believes in developing a healthy sense of self-esteem and intrinsic motivation in the students. Competition with others plays an important but limited role in achieving excellence and often derails us from long-term success. We encourage all students to compete with their own selves (becoming better than yesterday), to keep trying, and to develop a healthy spirit with regard to competing with others.
We do not encourage competitions at an early age but promote it from middle school age, once the child has developed a healthy sense of self-concept. Students until Class 2 usually participate in exposure activities, while students from Class 3 onwards start participating in competitive activities.
We believe that homework is an important part of the learning process and can effectively contribute to student learning through home-school integration. At Redbricks, a weekly homework frequency is decided carefully as per different age groups to not overburden students. Homework is assigned only from Kindergarten and above.
Homework is largely application and practice-based, and is expected to be done by the children and not the parents. The flipped learning method is often adopted where students review knowledge components at home, and the classroom time focuses on applying that knowledge meaningfully.
Since we follow a constructivist teaching approach, we advise students not to attend any tuition class to avoid confusion in learning methods (at least until the end of primary school). The school’s teachers are also strictly forbidden from taking tuition classes for Redbricks students – parents may not request them for the same.
If parents feel the need for external tuition, we strongly urge them to discuss the same with the Academic Coordinator and teachers in advance.
The school conducts after-school remedial classes for students identified with significant academic challenges after parent consent and through staybacks on selected weekdays.
The school has a team of full-time qualified psychological counsellors who are constantly observing and interacting with teachers to identify students with emotional/behavioural challenges. The counsellors work closely with these students to support their psychological health and also involve their teachers and parents as required. They also design and conduct regular sessions on life skills and socio-emotional learning with all groups of students.
At Redbricks, we believe in nurturing a strong two-way relationship with children’s families. Parents are engaged in multiple ways including PTMs, Parent workshops, Parent Volunteers and attending Events and Celebrations. Regular and transparent communication methods ensure that parents are kept informed about the school’s activities, and constructive parent feedback is encouraged and promptly acted upon.
We prepare healthy, fresh food on both our campuses for our students – the menu is prepared with inputs from a nutritionist and shared with parents at the start of each month. Jain food is also provided as a part of the Menu. For Preschool, we serve students a heavy breakfast/ mid-morning meal. For Class 1 onwards, we serve children a four-course meal/lunch. Food Menu will be given to you at the beginning of every month.
We provide transportation service for the Santej campus, and for the Satellite campus students choose to come on their own or avail of the van facility with an external vendor the school has tied up with.
The school follows a standard transport route model for the Santej campus, covering all major areas of Ahmedabad city. Parents can choose their convenient bus route and stop from the school’s standard transport route chart. In rare cases, new stops may be added to accommodate new areas.
All the buses are equipped with CCTV cameras and a GPS system through which parents can see the live location of the bus on the APP. Each bus also has trained drivers and an attendant to look after the children. Teachers accompany children on the morning routes in the buses. For the Satellite campus, one maid from the school accompanies children in vans (except Class 1 satellite) and there are regular safety checks of the vans from the school administration.
Children are always under the supervision of teachers/school staff in the school. The main areas of the school are manned by CCTV cameras for extra security. There are enough security guards deployed who are constantly monitoring safety across the school campus. Parents are asked to present Escort cards while picking up their child.
Regular disaster management drills and safety checks are also conducted to avoid/prepare for any difficult situations, and the school is updated with Fire safety equipment and training.
We try to ensure all safety measures for children when they are in school, however, if a child is hurt during play, we immediately administer first aid and inform the parents about the same. In case of a serious injury, the child is rushed to the nearest hospital and parents are informed.
Santej campus has a full-time qualified nurse available in the infirmary on campus, and both campuses have staff trained in first aid. The Santej school has a tie-up with CIMS Hospital for emergency care, as required. There are 3 multi-speciality hospitals within 15 minutes to 20 minutes of the Santej school campus.
A review of the place is done before taking children on a field trip to ensure safety measures. A first aid box is always available during field trips. In case of any emergency situation the nearest hospital would be approached.
Merit scholarships may be provided to deserving students based on parent applications. A discount on fees is only provided to siblings or children of staff as per the policy.
Redbricks students can choose to avail of an after-school daycare facility only at the Satellite campus, at additional and nominal charges.
We take admissions on a rolling basis subject to seat availability. Admissions for the next academic year usually start sometime between September-October each year. Parents are required to confirm the admission within 2 working days of the admission decision from the school, by paying the one-time admission fees and the first instalment of the required annual fees.
Visitors are welcome to the campus after filling up a brief inquiry form. To organize your visit, please get in touch with our counsellors at +91-9979500003.
