The CISCE board and its robust curriculum are aligned with our school’s philosophy. The board’s curriculum and assessment methods allow our school to develop:
The Redbricks Primary Years Curriculum (until Class 6) prepares students to excel in any Indian or International board after completion of primary school. From Class 7 onwards, the school follows the curriculum prescribed by the ‘Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations’ (CISCE) board based in New Delhi. Redbricks is affiliated with the CISCE board and is eligible to offer both the ICSE (Class 9-10) and the ISC qualifications (Class 11-12) for high school.
The CISCE board and its robust curriculum are aligned with our school’s philosophy. The board’s curriculum and assessment methods allow our school to develop:
Deeper understanding of the content, not just superficial knowledge
Higher-order thinking skills such as the ablity to apply, analyse, synthesise, reflect
Communication skills through a strong English language and literature program
Balanced & talented characters by focusing on a range of holistic development activities
While the board is an excellent guide, each school brings its own philosophy and approach to its implementation.
At Redbricks, we believe in a balanced progressive approach and our students learn through a combination of progressive and traditional methods.
Our teachers are trained extensively to implement the latest pedagogical techniques developing 21st century skills, along with a focus on helping students master the CISCE curriculum.
The school provides vast career exposure to students across middle and high school grades to help them discover their talents and interests early on.
The school culture promotes freedom of thought and expression while inculcating a sense of respect and discipline thus shaping strong characters and human beings.
The CISCE board has been one of the oldest Indian boards (est. in 1958) with a stellar track record of producing notable alumni across fields. It has been a progressive board and a pioneer in adopting the best pedagogical practices amongst the Indian boards. A CISCE education prepares students for holistic success: academic, career and life success, with its focus on in-depth and meaningful learning, development of thinking skills, strong characters and holistic talents. CISCE students excel in college programs, both in India and abroad, due to their past rigourous educational experience.
Some notable CISCE Alumni include:
Success in entrance exams requires students to bring accuracy and speed both while solving questions. CISCE students do exceedingly well in accuracy, due to their clear conceptual understanding. Students who are willing to put in the extra effort for practice also achieve the required speed. CISCE curriculum is also well-aligned to the requirements of the entrance exams. All in all, it is safe to say that CISCE students are at no real disadvantage in entrance exams.
The CISCE board is well-accepted in colleges abroad, and in fact considered a gold standard for good quality Indian Education. CISCE students will be looked upon favourably compared to other Indian boards, due to the rigour and reputation of its academic quality.
Redbricks offers all three streams: Science, Commerce and Humanities for Class 11 & 12 ISC examinations (subject to number of students opting for each stream). Some of the subjects offered include: English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Maths, Accounts, Commerce, Business Studies, Economics, History, Political Science, Psychology, Art, Physical Education, Computer Applications (for a stream-wise subject list, ps contact the school office).
The CISCE board is rooted in the Indian culture and context, while adopting the best of international curriculum and pedagogies. It provides a unique blend of local and global educational experiences to the students. It envisions developing global thinkers rooted in strong Indian values and systems. Pursuing CISCE board in high school also keeps doors open for students to pursue undergraduate education in either Indian or International colleges. The cost of pursuing a CISCE education is also significantly lower than that of an international board.
The CISCE board is widely recognized in Indian colleges and universities. The quota system may only apply in the local state government colleges. And in these cases too, the quota is as per the proportion of students appearing for each board, creating no real disadvantage for CISCE students.
CISCE board does focus on in-depth learning, which ultimately helps students gain important domain knowledge enabling future success in colleges and careers. This means that students may have to spend more time studying to prepare for CISCE as well as entrance exams. Redbricks School provides shorter school timings to enable students to balance both. CISCE board may have a robust syllabus, but it is not very difficult to excel in the assessments if students have learnt authentically. The board also provides concessions and flexibilities for students with learning disabilities.
At Redbricks, career development takes two forms: career exposure and career guidance. Career exposure starts early on during middle school years through career related field visits, expert talks, vocational projects, internships, and so on. This helps students to gain clarity about their aptitude and interests through an experiential & long-term process. The school has a tie-up with external career counselors who provide aptitude testing, career workshops, individualized career guidance, and other services to help students make the right career related decisions.
